"Nouman Ali Khan (From the U.S.) Live in Malaysia: Reclaiming Civilisation — The Qur’an, Public Policy, and the Battle for a Just Future"
Internationally acclaimed Qur’anic scholar and founder of Bayyinah Institute USA, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, will be visiting Malaysia in May 2025 to deliver two major public lectures in Gombak and Kuala Lumpur. These sessions will explore how the Qur’an addresses some of the most urgent issues of our time, including the future of leadership and ethical economic reform.
His visit comes at a time when the world is grappling with rising inequality, moral confusion, and the breakdown of trust in institutions. Ustadh Nouman will examine how the Qur’an offers not only spiritual insight but also a powerful moral vision for rebuilding society — rooted in justice, wisdom, and accountability. These lectures aim to empower individuals and communities to think critically about their role in shaping a more ethical and just future.
As Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice…”— Surah An-Nisa (4:58)
And:
“And thus We have made you a justly balanced nation so that you may be witnesses over mankind…”— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:143)
These principles are timeless and deeply relevant to today’s challenges in leadership, governance, and community life.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said:
“If Allah intends good for someone, He gives him understanding of the religion.”— [Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim]
This Hadith emphasizes that true understanding of Islam is not just about ritual or belief, but about gaining the insight necessary to act justly and wisely — both individually and collectively.
Open to the general public and offered free of charge with prior registration, these events are expected to draw large crowds and have already sparked widespread interest across educational, civic, and religious communities.

Closing Note: About the Qur’an
The Qur’an is regarded by Muslims as the final revealed scripture, the literal word of God (Allah), conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ over a span of 23 years. It serves as a comprehensive guide for humanity, covering matters of faith, law, ethics, family, justice, and governance. Its verses emphasize compassion, personal accountability, social responsibility, and the pursuit of knowledge. Timeless in message yet profoundly relevant to modern challenges, the Qur’an continues to be a source of spiritual renewal and societal transformation — themes central to both sessions in this upcoming event.
The Qur’an acknowledges and honors the previous scriptures, including the Bible and the Torah, and recognizes the shared history of all Abrahamic faiths. The Torah, revealed to the Prophet Musa (Moses) ﷺ, and the Bible, revealed to the Prophet Isa (Jesus) ﷺ, both contain divine guidance for their respective communities. However, the Qur’an presents itself as the final revelation, completing and correcting the messages of the previous scriptures. In Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:48), Allah says:
This verse emphasizes that while the Qur’an confirms the truths in the earlier scriptures, it also serves as a criterion and a guide for distinguishing right from wrong in the face of human distortion and misinterpretation of the earlier texts.
A compelling example of the Qur’an's transformative power is the story of Joram Van Klaveren, a former Dutch politician and anti-Islam activist. Initially, Van Klaveren set out to write a book critical of Islam. In his pursuit to understand and expose what he believed to be the flaws of the religion, he meticulously studied the Qur’an. However, as he delved deeper into the text, he began to notice its profound messages of peace, justice, and compassion, which directly contradicted the stereotypes he had held. Over time, he became increasingly moved by the Qur'an’s teachings, which led to a spiritual transformation. Eventually, Van Klaveren embraced Islam, converting to the very faith he had once sought to criticize. His journey illustrates how the Qur'an, when approached with an open heart and mind, has the power to change perspectives, reshape lives, and guide individuals toward truth.
The Qur’an’s status as the final revelation is critical to understanding its role as a savior of mankind. It provides comprehensive solutions to the moral, social, and spiritual dilemmas that humanity faces, and it ensures the preservation of divine guidance in its most complete and unaltered form. Unlike previous scriptures, which were revealed to specific peoples at specific times, the Qur’an is addressed to all of humanity, providing universal principles for justice, peace, and ethical governance.
